2005 c230 suspension

hi i was driving this morning when i hit a block ice going 35 miles per hour the rear end lost it and i dont know how come the esp didnt kick in. i lost the rear end and it went to the right i tried counter steer to catch it and i caught it but it went on the other side and i caught it again but it finly hit the curb the car is not damaged all the problem is the rear right tire is facing to the right about 2 to 3 inches i checked but the things i see i unkown means i dont know the name but i need i

now my question is can you guys help me out on instruction on how to changed it and what are the names of the arms and the mounts that the arm connects to from the body. thank you

Sorry about your mishap, but I'm glad nobody was hurt. It sounds like you went for quite a ride.

From your description, it's impossible to tell the extent of the damage. Can you post some pictures? If the front of the right rear tire is facing to the right (toe-out), you may have damaged the sub-frame. The car needs to be inspected by someone with MB experience to be certain.

thank you for responding
as of right now i dont have a digital camera i just gave it to my nephew two days ago but is there any place or link you can post to get the sub frame at thank you so much

from my view the arms are straight but i think that subframe is bent
the one that im talkin about is the one that holds the lower arm to the body how much is it and how hard to fix

C230 tries to move curb...fails

Your collision insurance will fix this. Minus your deductible.

Nope. Salvage titles are only given to a totaled vehicle that has been rebuilt to the proper specs.

And the ESP can not defy the laws of physics so even if it kicked in it would not save you on ice!

good thing i was the one driving and not somebody else. i have the knowledge not to break so wouldnt loose all the traction on all wheels and know how to counter steer the right way or i would be heading to a lightpole and a bus stop.

that esp disappointed me a lot when the thing happened i didnt even feel that kicking in or that might even made it worst when it applied the break as soon as i sliped and it happened here in las vegas.

thank you

You will not feel ESP you will notice the light flash. It independentally applies brake pressure to any or all of the four wheels depending on what is needed. And like I said ESP can not overcome the laws of Physics and tires on Ice. Especially if you have the High Performance Summer Tires on the car which are absolutely useless on ICE. Don't blame the car or electronics for lack of driving skill. It is there as a helper not a savior.

If you have this black ice much maybe invest in some Blizzak or similar that might give you a chance.
