First oil change.

Got my oil changed today(92 s600). Since this was my first oil change I wanted to see how they got that airbox out and it seemed pretty easy and I will be doing my own oil changes from now on. I put full synthetic*castrol* in there ( which is recomended right?) wondering how long/miles I should wait til the next oil change?

Thanks.

Most people here, including the " oil-change freaks " :D , seem to agree on a 6 k miles change intervall, since you're using synthetic. ;)

Ok cool I will use that 6,000 number then. I remember hearing 7,500 and i think I heard 6,000 but if thats what you guys say. I will change it in another 6,000 miles

I hope you guys dont mind but I would like to keep track of the services/repairs I have done on my car so I can use this for a quick reference.

1st service done:
oil change, 10.5 qts of catstrol synthetic. Cost $ 47.85 (hook up from person I know there)

synthetic change

I would say if at least 30% of your driving is highway...you could go to 7500...
..or 7 with no problems

i worry more about the filter than the synthetic.

Somebody here once made an Excel file for anybody to download, to help you keep track of mileage and oil changes - either try searching for it, or maybe somebody here already has it, and can send it to you.

Cool thats a good idea, I wonder if they have something that would keep all my service records together??

ANd by the way about 90 percent of my driving is highway.

I'm not sure it's a good idea to keep your service records here.
