Hello All,

I just wanted to take a couple of minutes and share my experiences purchasing from the "FastLane".
About 2 weeks ago while driving home coolant dumped out all over my leg. Gotta love that. Anyway, obviously I had to replace the heater core. I was pleasantly surprised at the price of the core from the FastLane. (about $75, big job though.) I ordered it on say a Monday night at about 5:25 P.M. eastern time. Since The Fastlane is upfront about the shipping charges and quoted me a price of $10 for next day delivery versus the $6 for UPS ground, I selected next day. I figured that If I ordered that late that they would process and pick on Tuesday and I would see it Wed. I arrived at work on Tuesday only to find the Airborne Express there with my core at 8:15 a.m. (unreal) I couldn't believe it. Coast to coast in 15 hours for $10. That was by far the most efficient and fast acquisition I have ever experienced.

I am now in the process of rebuilding my head so naturally after my first experience I choose The Fast Lane as my source of supply for parts. Again I ordered late in the afternoon and sure enough the next morning the parts had arrived. One problem, wrong Cam. I thought I was in for a real runaround because there is no phone number or address on the website. I finally broke down and emailed figuring I would be lucky to hear back by the end of the day if at all. I left the office for 15 minutes only to return and find out that Bill Wood, one of the partners had called for me. I began typing a second email when an email came in for me with a response to mine and stating that he had tried to call and left me contact numbers. I immediately called and within 10 minutes on the phone with him had the part replaced and on the way to arrive the next day.

I know that was long winded but it is worth telling. These days good customer service is difficult to come by. I saw that someone had posted last week about there not so wonderful experience with the shop. So often the only thing companies gets to hear is complaints. I thought it was important for both the owners and potential customers to hear some positive feedback.

To summarize, my experiences with The Fastlane could not have been better. I hear they are in the process of expanding and adding a phone # with customer support. If they continue to operate in the manner in which I was taken care of they are sure to be a huge success and a shop anyone would be pleased to be associated with and comfortable buying from.

MANY MANY THANKS FOR THE INCREDIBLE SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I found this wonderfull to read. It is so often that people do not convey the good experiences they have with buisnesses but will fire off a bad review in a heart beat, all to often they are errant in their facts anyway. I am considering replacing my drive axels in my 300D but I am very dissapointed that Fast Lane does not have these parts in stock. I would really like to order from them. Maybe if I stall long enough they may be able to replenish their stock. I find it a great relief to know a company with such principals does exist. I look foward to working with them.

PartsShop

I too want to support the board sponsors and sent an e-mail inquiry to PartsShop for an item (a rebuilt smog pump) I did not find in FastLane. Unfornately, it took partsman (benz9@pacbell.net) eight days to get back to me (he was on vacation when I sent my e-mail) so I ended up buying elsewhere. I did get a response by e-mail on his return (apologizing for the delay while on vacation) and am willing to try again when I next need something.

Ditto...great service and timely deliveries, even the time I ordered one rotor instead of two they corrected me before it got here, most companies would have said "Duh!" and had me order again. I'm just going to keep ordering from them. Next on the list are thrust arms. My Mercedes and me are happy with Partshop/Fastlane!

i doubt very much if partshop or any business for
that matter will consider making money off shipping
costs. if this is so, it is indeed a bad business
decision on their part. customers are pretty smart
these days, thanks in great part to the info highway
of today.

as a business person doing a bunch of shipping, i pass
on my discounted rate to my customers. ergo, my customers
are happy in shipping charges, and i am happy with the
increased volume i get which could further increase my discount rate.

WIN / WIN for everyone whichever way you look at it.

Cheers!!!

BTW, proximity of origin/destination does not count.
shipping co. have strange ways of routing and moving
deliveries.

Joel, I agree about the shipping stuff. I work with computers alot. You wouldn't believe what it costs to ship a 2ounce piece of memory overnight. Sometimes up to $50. Because the competition is so fierce with that stuff they drop the price and then gouge you on the shipping. I agree, as soon as I see that regardless of what the total cost is, I won't buy from someone who uses those practices. Shady!!!!!

I too have had great experiences with Fastlane/Partshop. When I was droping my suspension I ordered some parts from Fastlane, before the parts arrived Bill Woods had emailed me to inform me that one item from the order was left out and it would be on its way asap. It came in no time. You also cannot beat the prices on Fastlane - I ordered a rear lens assembly at the cost of $61.00 delivered, this costs $117.00 in the cheapest local Benz dealer. Am I happy or what?

It's only going to get better!

Thank you ALL for the kind words!!!

We try very hard to offer good products at a fair price but more importantly, treat people the way we would like to be treated. Somehow that "golden rule" concept always made a lot of sense to me.

I have good news for you. We have a new dedicated parts person. Phil is the name and responsiveness will be the game. Phil will be available to you via a toll free telephone number (US only) within a week to 10 days. Outside the US you will be able to reach him as well but, not on a toll free line. We are currently in the process of getting everything in place so we can make the big announcement. In the mean time, Phil is already responding to the Parts Information Requests via e-mail.

Stay tuned!

I do not want to take too much room up by this post so I shall try to make it brief. I, over the last two days, had the opportunity to work with the folks at FastLane first hand and I am very pleased with my experiences. I find it so extreamly rewarding to work with a company that is so set on great performance, as measured by it's customers, and customer satisfaction. Thank you folks for your service. I just wish they carried more older Triumph parts so I could use them exclusively.
