1998 W210 Door lock problems
For about the last 3 months, there are times when I hit a bump, or turn with someone in the passenger seat that my doors will unlock and then relock, all in about 1 second. This can happen many times in a day, then go for several days and not happen. Its worse when it is really cold, seems to happen less when warm. Any ideas??
Thanks, LP |

Try disconnecting the central locking switch from the dashboard. If the problem goes away, its a dodgy switch.

i'm inclined to go with PoD's theory as well. simple test #2. tape a dime onto
the door, immediately opposite the door plunger/switch. close door and drive around and see if this moderates or abates the symptoms. if so, it's that silly switch. fortunately, it's < $20. that switch can also manifest itself through lights on, alarm not setting properly etc. temperature: theory.... cold contracts metal and the parts have more gap. hot, it expands and gap between door/jamb is less. ¿¿
