1994 e320-help with a temperature probe

I've installed a new AC\heater fan motor assembly and found what looks like the climate control temperature probe lying down in the air box. It has tabs on it so it looks like it should snap into a rectangle slot. The probe comes through the harness grommet with the wiper motor connector which looks correct but i can't find a place to connect it.
Can anyone help with this?

It's been a while, but if I remember correctly there should be a square shaped hole in the side of the HVAC box (black box that contains the AC evaporator, heater core and blower assembly) the probe snaps into that hole...

There is a bracket on the blower housing below the filters as mentioned above. It slides in the bracket.

e320 temperature probe

Thanks, also got a reply from Mr. Dalton which was helpful.
Never did find a bracket or a hole to put the probe and with all of your help, it has one now.
Not sure but maybe my blower cover has been changed before and I've got an older style that did not have a spot for the probe?
Thanks,
