Question 05 CLK500 Cabriolet-resetting headrests

I posted on this subject a couple of days ago and got some good feedback. The only problem is that I had the wrong year posted therefore I was unsuccessful with the feedback info.(This is my friend's car). I have since looked in his owner's manual which says that you can't or shouldn't reset the headrests unless the convertible top is in the lowered position. It does not go on to tell, however, how to get the top to lower once the headrests are popped. Can anyone clue me in on what I need to do with this. I have a hunch that I should be able to take care of this without a trip to the dealer.

The replies to your initial thread have all the information you need. The procedure posted by MB Doc is the only way to re-set the rear headrests/roll-bar. Like I said in my reply to your last thread, it's a PIA, especially if you've never done it. Good luck
