My 320 smells gassy!

No, it's not from giving it fried foods either. When I return from short trips with my '94 E320, I can smell gas very stongly. I see no fuel on the motor or under the car, but something's wrong. Can it be a bad injector? It doesn't happen on longer trips, so I'm kinda baffled here. It's been going on for two months. Help!

Does the smell seem to be coming from the engine bay? Try sniffing around the hood "openings"- is the smell stronger there?

The more common gas leaks are towards the rear of the car near the gas tank.

As far as I can tell....

...the smell is coming from the engine bay. No odor from the rear.

Check around the fuel distributor and the injector seals. I once had a pretty significant leak coming from the EHA a few years ago. If it's strong, you should be able to find fluid where it shouldn't be.
