I just ordered an OE type center resonator for my CE. I also need a bit of pipe replaced at the back muffler. I was quoted US$240 for the job. My question is what brand or maker or supplier is this most likely to be? I think I'll give caliber motors parts dept. a call in the morning to see what they quote me and to find out which one they have. I figure it has to have a stamp or sticker on it that states its for the 1988-89 W124 300CE model. The actual one that I have a diagram for shows it to be part number 124 491 13 00. Is that correct?

I have new oil, filter, plugs, 02 sensor and now muffler. The cat seems fine but it's all in the temp in front of and behind it when it's on the machine. If I put on the muffler tomorrow, after I determine which one it is, I'll go directly to my smog check tech to see how I'm doing.

I just hope I dont need to spend anymore money on the emissions for the next two years. Then I can put money into other things like gaskets and tires and bushings and hoses.

Also will be replacing the leaky fuel hose tomorrow with the original black line.
