What type of fan is this?

I'm having cooling problems in my '82 230ce, initally the coolant heat started to climb when the rpm was low (cruising) or idling. When the rpm was raised it cooled off again. I topped up the radiator and let it idle with the cap off.. I could see the water flowing thru the rad and it kept to 80C-ish. In the last week or so, the car will not climb above 50C even in traffic, I do short commutes so figured this was down to the fan being constantly on (as it has been since I bought the car in August). Last night I got a dump of coolant on my left foot (car is Right hand drive), not sure if this indicates that the system over pressurised due to a failed cap or something else (?).
Also, am attaching a pic of my fan, any idea which type this is?
Thanks in advance!!
Steve

Stevo- I had the same problem with my temperature not getting about 50 and it was the thermostat and collant sensor both of which I replaced this weekend past. Well i did the sensor and Hef did the thermostat and it cleared the problem up, now i have heat in the car again and the temperature gets above 80.

Nice one! Thanks for the replies, I have a Thermostat ordered, should be picking it up in the morning, will throw the socket set in the boot and do it at lunchtime ;-) Will let you know how I get on!
Cheers
