Hello,

Thank you again for all the responses and help!

Here are some pictures of my setup. I'll try and explain as well as provide a link to high res versions of these pictures.

Image 1 - The frequency valve you see in the picture is attached to one of three fuel lines coming off my warm up regulator. Wires for the frequency regulator run back to the K-Jetronic add on fuel box I found inside the car.

Image 2 - Overall shot, notice the clamp on the fuel line. This was added by the Mercedes dealer to get me home. Does this indicate my frequency regulator is the problem or the warm up regulator?

Image 3 - This is what was screwed into the top of the warm up regulator to allow two lines out.

Image 4 - From what I've read about the K-Jetronic system I'm lost on this one. Help?

I notice I have insulation touching or nearly touching my exhaust manifold. Best to just remove this or remove and replace?

High res links next.

Thank you again everyone.

Yup, I'd remove it.

Hit Man X,

It is as good as gone when time permits.

Can you explain what I'm seeing in the last picture? (The wire running over the valve cover)

Thank you!

I dont have my 380SE 5.0 handy so I couldn't tell you, but I have seen that plug on the 420SEL.

I'd be more concerned about those connections with only crimps!

Hi,

Sorry to necro this thread, but as we know, the people who started this thread are usually still email subscribed, and what I hope to add I hope to have value for posterity.

I have a federalized euro 1985 500 SEC. I also am trying to determine how necessary an O2 sensor and the Johnson box are. Is it mostly for emissions or are there fuel management benefits as well? Anyway, I was also exploring adding a wideband O2 sensor to help me dial the engine in. But perhaps this is for another topic.

Anyway, I found this plug by the air flow meter and assume it goes to the missing frequency valve...
