Welder question
I am looking for a decent MIG welder. I want 120 AC not 240. I have been looking at the Lincoln SP135T / 3200HD / PRO MIG 135 (all the same thing). I want gas capability. Just to weld up to 1/8" or 3/16". The Miller's seem expensive. One question is how important is the "continuous" power level setting vs. A,B,C,D ? To get the continuous I would have to get the SP135+ or one called the 140C I believe, and those are 100 or 200 more. Does anyone know of any deals right now?
Thanks, Mike |

Been there. They don't show anything 120AC. And nothing with gas. And I still don't know if I need the continuous power settings.

One of my welders is a Lincoln Weld Pak 100 ( 120vac ) using 0.030 core flux wire.
I am pleased with it as I can weld outside in the wind unlike my Argon shield welder. The welder has a duty cycle of 25% and so far has not tripped off while welding most jobs. Was around $480.00 or so and can be adapted to take Argon shield gas bottle. Can weld up to 1/8th sheet or multiple pass thicker metals. Will turn way down so can weld body sheet metal...a kind of spot welding technique. . |
Find the most expensive welder you can afford, and get the next best one.
Get a hobart 140 ($500), or a clark 130EN ($450). The hobart's better, but, the clark's cheaper...... I'd get the hobart, but, whatever's local, get. Talk to somebody about them before u buy it... ~Nate |
