Volts to milliamps
How do I convert milliamps to volts, anyone have the formula?

E lec tric ity
Ohm's law equation (formula): E = R · I and the power law equation (formula): P = E · I.
P = power, I = intensity, E = electro motive force (EMF = voltage), V = voltage, potential difference, R = resistance. (1000 milliamps=1 Ampere) "Amps" or their subset "Milliamps" do not convert directly to Volts. "Amps" and "Volts" are two legs of the Tri equation that allow us to understand ELECTRICITY |

You can't, they're completely different.
You might as well ask to convert mph to temperature. |

Basically you have to have the missing resistance of the circuit to calculate the milliamps at indicated voltage. The missing part of the equation if you wish. There is no other direct correlation possible I believe. Or to put it simply voltage is a measure of the potential avalable while milli amps is a measure of current or energy flow. But if you can establish a resistant constant you could extrapolate by calculation either one as long as you have two parts. Just for each individual application though.

easy way to do this, electricity trvelling down a wire can be compared to a water hose.pressure of water coming out of hose=voltage.quantity of water from hose=amps.resistance to flow of water[or kinks in the hose] =ohms. if anyone needs a more thorough explanation please ask.

Volts to Milliamps?
As others have alredy stated volts and milliamps are two different functions and cannot be cconverted.
The logical question is "What are you trying to measure" EHA ? Idle control? Airflow meter? Mike |

Trying To Find
Thank you, I do have fun with all the answers,I have done a lot of reading on the subject of the potentiometer and though the subject of current flow resistance, and voltage dose confuse me What irks me more is when I can not get reading that others get when working an item,I had heck trying to under stand the X11 and the EHA till I got help from another member, this is not any different just need to be educated.....and boy are they having fun teaching me! Any how the EHA unplugged cold Eng.this morning I was not able to get anything at the pot. a little direction please. jnt
