or, go w/ OE/eberspacher bits.. The last round of timevalve pieces I bougt (down pipes) were disappointing to say the least. Ugly bends, welds that leaked etc..

Thks for the info. I went their and this is what it says http://www.timevalve.com/cat/us/p20b1a.html. I cant weld, and i bet i can do better than that. Ive got a friend who has a mercedes shop and he is going to see what he can do. I hate to order something frm the east coast and then it gets here and is junk.

If you don't want junk, get OE Mercedes stuff from a dealer. It's way less expensive than you fear ... in fact hardly any more expensive than aftermarket.

Have you tried the Buy Parts Link (Fastlane) in this site? They have all the parts that you are looking for.

Better yet: Call Phil who runs this web site at 1-888-333-4642 and he will get you hooked up.

Exactly,Chris. Just got off the phone with my friend at his mercedes shop, and he can get it all for $960. All cept for the rear muffler are oem.

Been there done that on two different 300E's 1990 and 1992. If complete exhaust system means Catalytic Converter back then the $960.00 is way high. I went with Eberspacher, which I'm told is OE supplier. Looked absolutely identical to original parts. Looks like current internet prices at about $180 each for Center Resonator and Rear Muffler.

If complete exhaust system includes Catalytic Converter then it looks low. Much caution needed when replacing Cat., or so I'm told by my indy.
