replacing light bulbs in 300-E guage cluster
I know I might have to remove the instrument cluster, but I though I ask if there was a simpler way to get behine it to put in new bulbs? My thought process was from seeing in the Braum cataloge a tool 129 0-109 for removing instrument cluster bulbs in 129, 140 202, 116 models.

Can't picture any way other than to pop the instrument module out. Remove Speaker grill and speaker. Then you can push it from the back. Loosen speedo cable clamp. You need the two hook tools. Out comes. Then you can get to the lights.

when pushing cluster back in..
I find when pushing the cluster back in - it helps a bit to push the cable a bit where it runs down the fire wall behind the brake pedal with one foot - tends to help move the speedo cable back into position and pull the cluster back into the installed position while pushing from the front.

Removing the cluster again for the first time
Before replacing the cluster, wipe a smear of paste wax on each of the metal clips which hold the cluster. Then the next time you have to remove the cluster it will come out much more easily. I use Johnson's paste wax but any other should work as well.
