Key stuck in ignition

Replaced the Neutral Safety switch on a 1994 C280 and everthing works fine except now I can't get the key out of the ignition. It turns on and off ok, but When I put the car in park, shut off the engine, the key won't come out.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance
Greg

Something's not adjusted right. The car may be in park, but not really fully in park to release the lock. Check shifter linkage/adjust it.

There is what looks like a small coaxial cable connected to the ignition switch. the cable push in on a lever inside the ignition switch to allow removal of the key. I learned this after I removed the ignition switch to put in my ebay store. If you need a picture, let me know and I'll snap one for you.

That's the same info I got on another site. I think it's not adjusted properly:o . There is 2 screw connections for the unit. 1 is a hook type and the other is oblong, so it looks like you can swing thr unit up or down very slightly to fine tune the adjustment.
Thanks for the reply;)

Here's a picture of the ignition switch. Notice the location and direction of the steering wheel locking mechanism. The key removal interlock is directly opposite and slightly lower from the steering wheel locking mechanism. Upon pushing the lever inside the ignition switch, the key may be removed.

Good luck
