1993 400E limp home fixed but ......
Hello out there, been reading these forums with great interest. My 1993 400E developed the dreaded asr light on --100% limp mode problem awhile back and since then i've replaced the brake switch, neutral safety switch, asr control unit, and just the other day my indie replaced the throttle body accuator. After he replaced the accuator the limp home mode was finally fixed and we took it for a test drive. It really runs smooth and very strong. However, the asr light is still on !!! I addition, I now have high idle--- 1500 - 1700 rpm's in park and 900 rpm's in gear. The fault code, printed out on paper from the handheld diagnostic tool, reads 030 , description-- can : no reception from efp n4/1 ( efp/tdm/isc ) Does anyone out there have any ideas as to how to fix this problem ?? As i've already spent time and money dealing with the asr monster I would appreciate any input into the idle problem. By the way, my baby has 207,000 miles on it and runs better than new ones i've test driven ! thanks , deano ALWAYS DO THE MAINTENANCE !!

the fault code indicate that you have a wrong cable adjustment level, the cable thats connected to the throttle actuator pin, there is an arrow marker on top of the throttle linkage right? move the arrow towards the left fender side from point o level, just about 2 mm from dead center. your problem should be solved, I would also suggest if you can e mail a picture of the old throttle actuator and control module, please include the serial number on the picture mail to philipsee1@yahoo.com, and will see if I can send you the correct diagram fro adjustment on the specific actuator.

Hey , thanks cool for the response. I'll try what you say soon and let you know what happens. As far as pictures go, I only know how to load pictures onto ebay for my auctions. I've never tried loading pictures onto a forum like this though i'd like to know . thanks, deano
