96 S420 radiator fluid drain
Just got the car a week ago and im doing the maintaince on it.
Well it has the nasty green goop coolent so i bought the correct MB stuff to change it out but i cant seem to find the drain plug under the radiator:confused: From what ive worked with (83 SD and 87 D) there is a plug under the radiator that you unscrew to let the coolent out. But i dont see it on this car's radiator. Is there no drain plug or am i missing something? |
take off the lower left chin luver, you'll see a plastic plug just turn it counter clock wise and stay clear cause water will flow out form there, make sure your car is cool enough to work on the water system, better safe than sorry. All 140 have the same location for the drain plug, unless the radiator have been altered.

Don't forget the block drains. One on each side by the enging mount arms. IIRC they point straight down. They're petcocks so you only have to loosen, not remove. They're smaller than the one that takes a 19mm socket on the exhaust side of a 603.
