How to refill transmission fluid

Hi all,

Recently I had to do some radiator work and lost a little transmission fluid thru the cooling lines. Does anybody happen to know how to refill the oil? How do I check the level? I understand there's a filter for tranny, does that need to be changed? Thanks.

The first question is, "What is the Make, Model, and Year of your car".

The second question is that based on your post, this is new territory for you.
You might want to start with a some sort of basic repair manual for your car.

It's not just how to pour the transmission in. It's making very sure you have the correct fluid. Then it's reading the procedures for you particular model and learning how to measure the fluid level. Bad consequences if you do it wrong.

Sorry, I thought my profile on the side would show the type of the car. It's a 92 600SEL. Any help would be appricated.

FYI - profiles and avatars can be turned off (I have them turned off). Always a good idea to post year and model, otherwise you can be ignored by a large percentage of the members here.

You should have a transmission dipstick then and use Dexron. Check your owner's manual to be sure, but all you should have to do is fill through the dipstick tube. ATF is checked with the engine hot and running. Again, see the owner's manual for correct procedure for your car.

only place i found his vehicle infor is from his previous posts. its not even in the member profile.

Fill out your member profile if you intend to stick around here so you dont have to tell everyone what car you have everytime you ask a question. Put the year and model in your signature file as well.
