Play in shifter

Hey, I have a 1992 300e Auto 3.0L, JUST TODAY the shifter started to become very loose....the gears change and I can put it into D R N and P just fine, its just that once they are in these positions there is about 1CM of play....is this a bushing that has gone bad or what? I really hate this, it is so annoying. Please, a part, a discription on how to fix it...something, for the love of good wine and fast cars
