W126 - What is this Hose

Can any member help with identifying one of the rubber hoses on a 500/560SEL? Looking from the front of the engine. On the left bank below the air cleaner is the air intake rail for the left hand fuel injectors. (Yellow plug at both ends with four injector connectors) Running off a yellow junction joiner in the centre is a black rubber hose of the same diameter that exits for an inch before bending at about a 40 degree angle towards the rear of the engine to dissapear under and connect to the underside of the Fuel injection assembly. Merc Dealership does not list this part and has supplied all other hoses. I can't find a part number on the old hose. It was rubber in its former life, however has now turned to something resembling plastic or steel!
I don't want to remove it as it will break and am terrified what brittle part it may connect to under the injection assembly. Any help wiith what this part is called or a part number would be appreciated. What does this hose connect to under the injector assembly? Is it a metal connection or another scarey old brittle rubber connection. Just need to know if it can be removed without breaking what its connected to. Any information or advice would be appreciated.:behead:

there air distabrtion hoses , yes they get hard and break it best to get factory one , i got some aftermarket ones before and they sucked shut at idle.you can get the caps too.

I contacted Mercedes Benz with the "Air distribution hose", they stated that all hoses are under that catogory as you stated, however needed either a specific merc title for the part or its actual part number. Their schematics clearly show the right bank hoses, however only the air rail on the left obscured by the fuel injection assembly hiding this part. You wouldm't have the receipt for the one you replaced? It would have the part number! Thanks for your help to date.

your y hose number is 116-090-08-82.it used to be available as two pcs but now only as one pce.it comes off the idle air plenum which is fed by the idle valve and feeds air to both of the long tubes,it doesn't connect under the fuel distribution plenum,so you can feel safe about removing it.
