93 300E 3.2 leaks oil like a Yugo
 

My 93 300e has leaked oil since the day it was new. I'm told this is common on this engine and there is nothing that will fix it. Is the mechanic telling the truth? Seems to be leaking on passenger side midway down the engine. Leaks about half a quart a month. 65k original miles.

Perhaps it's time for a new head gasket? 65Kmi is low mileage, but it's 13+ years old and maybe just time to get it replaced.

Original head gaskets were bad, and they always leak oil on the passenger side of the head.

The new head gaskets have metal tabs that insert into the block, keeping the gasket in place.
