Fuel Line Frustration
Hey,
On Sunday I decided to replace the fuel filter in my 86' 420SEL. Everything went smooth but when I was done a fuel line that was old decided to spring a leak. No big deal. Get a new hose and hook it up right? WRONG!!!! I cannot seem to get the line off from where it attaches to another line that goes to somewhere inside the body of the car. I can get two wrenches in there but I dont have enough room to turn them enough to loosen the fastner. Does anyone know if there are special wrenches or if I have to pull the fuel tank to get to them from above if possible. I am without a car right now. Any help is appreciated. By the way the hose is the one that goes from the outlet of the fuel filter to the front of the car. |

I'm not sure I understand. The fasteners are recessed? As in just out of reach of the wrenches? Try a torch to heat and bend a cheap wrench.

They are not recessed, but have other hoses around them that are in the way.

if you use two line wrenches and position them so that you squeeze them together to break loose you can do the job.been there done that.
