I was checking out the tranny manual for the 66-73 Benz 300SEL (since I dont have the 190E tranny book) and in order to change out the speedo gear on the tranny, one must take the whole tail off of the trans to get at the one bolt that holds it in from the inside. What were they thinking when they designed that one!

Is the 190E like this other model? Do ya have to change the shaft gear as well?
