New guy, "new" car

Hey all. For those I didnt chat with over in the general discussion while I was getting opinions on what to search for I just wanted to say Hi now that I have found my benz.
I was looking for a larger car to suppliment my Miata on my daily 120 mile round trip commute since my miata got run over by a Jeep and I felt a little vunerable in the small car.
Thanks to the great advice of folks here I settled on the 300 series, looking at the SD(L) and SE(L)s. Diesel was a draw for me but in the end the right deal at the right time put me in a gas powered wonder.
Nice 89 300 SEL with 131k on the clock for under $3500 out the door. I love it already.
I'll try to refrain from too many newb questions until I search through everything, but Im open to any and all advice on what to check first, what servicing to do etc.
Im already planning on a timing chain soon since I dont have a history on the car, Ive picked up at least that much poking around here so far

Anyway, here is my new baby

minor rust issues in the front fenders.
Seems to have some oil consumption, but from what I gather they all do to some extent. I need to track it for a bit to see if its really happening and to what extent.

Otherwise pretty good and all the stuff that is usually broken isnt.

The low price I can only attribute to the seller themselves. The place was a tiny lot in the middle of nowhere that makes most of their living off ebay and selling trucks. The owner picked this one up at auction for his niece but it was too big for her so he drove it for awhile then decided to sell it. He admitted he hoped to get more for it but his normal clientelle was looking for trucks so this just wasnt moving.

Its by no means a perfect car, but its pretty nice, probably alot nicer than I intended to get. I just wanted something to handle my 120 miles a day so I didnt put them all on my new car but now Im looking at the little things this needs and wanting to fix them all. Ive always really loved big cars (grandad always had fullsize lincolns and my first car was a 19 ft 9 inch long 2 door oldsmobile 98) I love my little miata too, but for my commute on big highways this thing has a better surviveability rate
