Door latch jammed
91 300 te 4matic.
Seatbelt didn't retract and got wrapped around the strike on the jamb. Closed the door not noticing. Door didn't close completely and the latch didn't completely engage through the strike. Cannot open it though. Door will move slightly (as if in the half latched position) and is about a 1/2" out from the normally closed position. Also, lock will not push down. Tried pushing, prying, pushing screwdriver from outside along jamb to try and push latch into open position. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. |

Without seeing it , spray some lube to soak the jammed piece. Rock the door up and down to put a flat spot on it. Try pulling the door with the window down while someone pushes with both feet from inside. I got a wagons tail gate open in a similar way.

I'm trying that this morning. Suspect (hope) it just needs a little more help than I was giving it.
Next step is to cut the belt and try to pull it out in pieces. Tom |

Both handles propped open and eight two boot footed kicks did the trick!
Think I'll do something about the seat belt retractor. Thanks |
