You can't use dextron or dextron II from local automotive store, or Mobil 1 ATF etc. ?

GradyService 02-10-2007 08:20 PM

Denis, sure you can. As my local mb dealership told me," just use the cheapest Dexron III- Mercon you can find".
Good Luck and God Bless,
Dave.

Thanks Dave.

FYI I had this same question at "Our SL" forum site for over 2 months and never got an answer. This is the second or third time I've had a question on this site and have had responses to all that are helpful and work.

Thanks again.

Supposedly, Mobile-1 ATF works great as well. It's more expensive, but you don't need all that much of it.

I can't say from experience though. I have some of the stuff in the garage, but I'm waiting for it to warm up before I change the fluid. Hell, I'm waiting for the snow to clear from the roads before I drive the car again.
