Power Steering Fluid w/Stop Leak--Any Opinions?

What does anyone think about power steering fluid with stop leak in it? I used it with success on my Honda Accord (the pump was leaking). Am tempted to try it on my MB, which has a leaking hose.

Wouldn't it be easy to replace, or tighten, the leaking hose?

The stop leak products for p/s typically only act on seals to swell them a little and sometimes it will work. Using a stop leak product on a KNOWN leaking hose is NOT the right thing to do. Purchase a new hose and replace it.

Don't try to treat an open vein with a band aid.

Used Lucas

My steering box was weeping slightly (probably from little use) I put some in and it stopped. I did subsequently flush, change filter and refill with MB fluid, its been a year. If something easy leaked I would not do it.
