No Blow!!

My 87 190e 2.3 8vlv is driving me nuts! It's cold outside and the heater blower doesn't work. I've recently bought this car for cheap and it runs so I'm not complaining, it's just cold. The temp and all other functions on the CC seem to work fine. I get some heat when I'm driving, but no fan. I checked the fuses and replaced all of them. I hooked up a power lead direct from the battery to the fan and it does work that way. I checked for power at the #1 fuse and there's none. This is the fuse for the blower fan and some other things. Everything else in the car works. Question is , if there's no power at the fuse where should I go next?

No blow

Will the blower operate when you jump power to fuse #1 ? Dead spots in the ignition switch are common.(try wiggleing the key with the blower turned on).
From may 1988 on a remote fuse location was used to facilitate a 30 amp fuse and in cases where earlier cars were blowing the fuse these were retro fitted. Look for a black plastic fuse holder near the master cylinder.
Good luck Mike

Never even thought of running power direct to the fuse. I'll give it a shot tommorrow. As far as the fuse goes I'll look and see if it has one. But maybe not since my car is an 87. Thanks mike.

Ok, today I tried putting power to the #1 fuse and the fan works. So as a temporary fix instead of running a wire from the battery I used a jumper wire from fuse #3. It works for now. Any ideas why there is no power to fuse #1? Thanks in advance.

Could be a bad ignition switch.
