Do you recommend me to buy S600 1995~1998?

I drove 600SEL 1992 and saw the incredible performance. I'm used on 560's but when I tried the 600 I discovered the 560 is a rubbish comparing it with the 600's v12. Thus, I'm planning to buy a 600. Most of you guys (if not all) recommened me against the 600SEL 1992 that I asked before about. Now I'm looking seriously for a clean and well maintained S600 from 1995 to 1998 or even 1999 (W140). I heared that W140's from 1995 to 1999 are relaible cars unlike the early W140, so do you recommend me with a 600 one? (Not 500 I mean 600 V12) Thanks a lot for your support : ))..

They are great cars, no reason not to buy one. Upkeep is in line with a $130k car so don't be surprised if they need a few grand pumped into them here and there.

There is some possibility that you will get that "rubbish" feeling again when you take the 600 in for repairs. Surely they are better cars than the early ones but parts are rare and expensive and the engine bay is crowded and labor intensive.

its a great car with a great driving feel and experience, all the power you will ever need, and the kind of comfort a luxury car is suppose to be. Fixing is not a problem and for parts, it can easily be attained, tons of salvage shop too in the west coast for cheap working parts for the 140 is available.

Buy the latest model year you can. Later years have less problems.

Thats right.... I have heard to try to at least get a 1996 or newer. Good luck.

If you have the money, go for it. I will laugh at you if you come back here in 6 months whining about how much it has cost you for repairs :)

Although somehow I bet the unreliability of the 600 series cars is exaggerated by an unlucky few.

Ok guys. I really do thank you for your support. I will search for a suitable one and inform you about it. : ))..

You should get one. As long as gas is cheap where you live, then by all means get one. They are great cars and great status symbols.

I found S600 1996? Do you recommend that model? It's white and full options...
Today hopefully I'm going to see it.

Yes, in fact I think everyone should buy one...

Cool, I'll see it and let you know.
I'm so interested : ))..

I saw the car and I can tell that it's one of the cleanest cars I've ever seen. It's only 29K mileage (in KM) and with full options. It's from Japan with original TV.
The engine is V12 ME. But the price was 6000 KD (~17500$) which is beyond my expectations. I cannot pay that much. but the car is really wonderful. White colour and the interior is light brown. I wish I could effort that money to buy it : ))..

How strange, it sounds the price on them in your country is just about right in line with the price's in the US. Go figure, small world.

Anyway my friends dad has had a 1995 S600 for years now and its been dead nuts reliable. He paid a premium for it, it was and still is perfect. I think its up to 75k miles.

The trick is you have to buy a good one. This one was traded in on a Lexus, and the Lexus dealer liked it so much they put it right out on the front row of the lot!
