1987 420sel , timing chain? Need mechanic
 

I think my timing chain is ready to go. I hear this ticking/slapping sound when the car starts and is cold. I've been told by my local dealership that it will cost $1600+ to fix. But all the information I've been able to find is the cost should be around $600-1000. Does anyone have a good mechanic in the Chicago area?
