plugs

Platinum 4 plugs are they resistor type or not? How do you tell, are they marked on the box or do you need to know the numbers to tell one from the other?JNT:dizzy2:

Platinum 4's (As welll as Platinum 2 and standard platinum) are resistor type spark plugs. I have learned the hard way that, for a MB, use regular, non-resistor Bosch Super (copper) or standard NGK plugs. I had Platinum 2's in my 560, but, under the advisement of my dealer and this forum, am removing them and replacing with the Bosch Super.
Good Luck, and God Bless,
Dave.

Auto zone

Called the zone to ask about my plugs, found out that the 4478 p-4 plug is in fact a non resister type plug so you can get a platinum 4 non resister plug JNT:silly:

You Can? If that is the truth, then you may have saved me from a great pain:D , see, I posted on basically the same subject last night. I put a set of Platinum 2's in my 560 a few months ago, and everybody said that I needed to pull'em immediately and install regular copper plugs. If this checks out, this is great:) . (I haven't ordered the new plugs yet, so I'm in the clear).
Thanks, and God Bless,
Dave.

FYI the BCH-4307 Bosch Platinum2 Spark Plugs are resistor plugs with a copper core from what I can find.

J-N-T,

From what I'm finding the BCH-4478 shows as a resistor plug as well. Have you checked with anyone besides Autozone about this?

I'm just curious now.

Back to the replace plugs thing, I suppose. I should've known when the owners manual, the forum, and the MB dealerships all agree, its got to be right ;) .
Thanks, and God Bless,
Dave.

No I only called the zone as they are the one who sold me the plugs and looked it up in the computer, the 4478 is supposed to be a non resister plug I dont under stand how the same number can show two types of plugs? I will call a Friend at another parts house to check though! JNT:greedy:
