very squeaky driver's side power window.. diy fix?

when the driver's side window starts rolling down, it makes a very loud squeaking noise!! quite embarassing, is there a way to make the noise go away? the windows are tinted. also, all 4 windows seem to "struggle" when going down & up, they are not very smooth but quite jerky.. thanks for help

Remove the door shell and check the windows...

Hopefully, you just need to lubricate all the moving parts...otherwise, it is time for new hardware $$$$

Just bringing this back tothe surface. I have the same problem - horrendously squeakey front windows. I have to wait until I'm out of the parking deck before lowering them due to the onlookers.

It's so loud, it echos in the concrete deck!

I'm pretty sure it's the trim/weather stripping, not the mechanism. When I stop the window, I can push down on it with my hand and get another little squeak.

Should I just replace the rubber trim?

Thanks!

That's the rubber squeegee strip on the door that's gotten hard and no longer pliable. Replace the strip and you'll soon be rolling the window up and down in peace and quiet.

Thanks. That's the part I was zeroing in on. I think it's the inside part rather than the outside. Agreed? Otherwise it would quit when the outside was wet or soapy.

Try lubricating the tracks and all the rubber weatherstrip with silicone. Take a rag and douse it with silicone spray. Using the soaked rag, wipe down all the window tracks and the bottom weatherstrip on both inside and outside of the window so that all the tracks and the weatherstrip are nice and silicone-ey. It will take three or four treatments because the first couple of wipes will only wi[pe off the grunge. Don't use silicone paste/gel, only use the spray. This totally fixed it for me.

My passanger window is very squeky. It starts squeaking when it is rolled down about a 1/4 of the way down and stops when it gets to about 1/3 of the way down. I have tried lubbing it up 3x already and it still squeaks. I even pulled off the door panel and everything to really really get the mechanisms. it stays quiet for about 48 hours but then goes right back to being annoying. any ideas?
