I have three questions for a 560SEL
 

Hello to all, : ))..

1. What is the purpose of the air temp. sensor (pic attached) and what will happen if I disconnected it?

2. How to check an injector manually?

3. Is it true that unbinding an EHA unit then binding it again will cause the car to becoume rough idle forever? (Even after fuel distributor alignment)

[1] if you disconnect the incoming air sensor the computer will see an open circuit and go to default value[normally a little richer than if it was hooked up and working] [2] if you don't have pressure tester you can take it out and blow through it with air pressure nozzle.you should be able to hear the injector buzz.if not then it's suspect. [3] what do you mean by unbinding eha?

What do you mean by default value[normally a little richer than if it was hooked up and working? I didn't get it.

taking off the eha and then replacing it will not cause any changes in it's operation unless the o rings leak after you do this.this will be easy to see. lets suppose that the temp sensor has an operating range between 2400 ohs and 600 ohms the computer will be instructed to use maybe 1400 ohms if it sees an open circuit.hope this clarifies the situation.
