So today I removed the ovp from my 86 420 sel and it idled at 2000 rpm. Is that a good indication that the ovp is good because when I put it back it idled normal.

Good sign...along with an ABS light when unplugged [if you have abs]

It ddn't trigger the ABS light when out. Just high RPM"s

ABS powered through OVP may have started in '88............
