Very hard Start, ABS Light On

Greeting Forum Members,

About a week ago after my son filled our 1990 3000E with gas he drove the car home and parked it.
The next time he went out to start the car he ran the battery down trying to start it.
I recharged the battery and attempted to start the car with the added power of a jump start booster pack.
After a lot of engine cranking the engine did start running, at first ,very weakly at below normal idle rpms and after several minutes up to normal idle
speed.
The car drives fine and will start back up with little trouble within 15 - 20 minutes.
Any longer period of resting time the engine starts back up like a fuel injection system that was run dry of gas, i.e. a lot of cranking, sputtering engine, more cranking , low rpm running and shutting off and finally running at normal rpms.
The gas filter, plugs, cap and rotor are new or in good condition.
Are these the signs of a bad fuel accumulator in this CIS system and or something else?
Does the ABS light indicate a related problem?
All related knowledge and experiences appreciated.

Check the fuse on the OVP..you have a low voltage condition.

Arthur,

You were right on target.
The OVP 10 amp fuse was blown.
I replaced it and the car starts fine.

Much Thanks,

Knarf

p.s how critical is installing the distributor cap gasket on these cars?
I didn't install one on the new cap that I recently installed.
