400 Se 1992 ,power Problems

Hi All

I Have A Problem With My 92 400se .the Battery Light (red Warning) Came On The Dash ,car Won't Start ,jumped It And It Started It ,light Still On ,they Told Me Its The Altenoter,i Bought One ,put It On ,got The Car Started ,light Still On ,my Battery Is New ,i Noticed That In The Dash ,the Oil Pressure Reading Is Not Working ,even If I Step On The Gas ,also My Stearing Weel Is Very Hard ,and I Can Not Make Turns Or Anything ,i Am Not Sure What Is The Problem ,please Some Help ,thanks

Did you put belt correctly? How about tensioner?

yes they are good , my question is ,if the altenoter is bad ,does the stearing weel act like that? gets really hard ,and the oil pressure thing won't work? just want to know where is the problem ,thanks

Did you put a new alternator in? Why do you think it's bad? The oil pressure isn't related to the alternator problem, but the steering pump is driven by the same belt as the alternator. I'd suggest tow the car to somebody to help you diagnose the problems. Don't drive it like that.

i put the brandnew alternator in the car ,it did not work ,it seems like there is no power coming to it at all ,red light still on ,stearing wheel still hard ,not sure whats going on ,it looks like there is no power going to the alternator .please i need some help with that ,thank you

Do you have fluid in the power steering reservoir?

Is your serpentine belt still there? If so, is it tight?

Did you check all of your fuses? Wiggle them a little, and look at them closely - from far away a bad fuse can look good.
