Center console with gear sift repair

The center console with the gear sift and window buttons has come loose and the buttons have dropped. The rubber seal around the gear sift is loose. How do I repair this? I am a lady but have repaired other things on my car with the help of the nice people on this forum. I have a 1989 420 sel four door. Thanks Jane

jane go buy a new wood panel from the dealer.if you are going to keep the car this is the best fix.you can pull it apart and temp fix it but it won't last.feel free to call if you need a better explanation.
