I hear a big time clunking noise when driving over bumps
or dips. Inspected my rear shocks where they bolt into the lower control arm. The ball joint end of the shock is all rusted and barely moved around. HAS ANY 500 E OWNERS OR OWNERS WITH THE LEVELING SHOCKS IN THE REAR HAD THIS PROBLEM. Thanks for your replys. GUIDO 1993 500E FACTORY TECH 14 YRS |
Perhaps you've looked at this, but I'd recommend that you look at the top shock bushing(s).
I has similar rattles in my 260E rear suspension, due to worn busings in the thrust rods. (may not be the proper name) It was metal to metal, but on the inboard side, so I could not clearly see it. I also got quite a yaw during WOT due to geometry changes during thrust. New rods, no rattles or yaw. |
Have you also checked the differential mounting bolts-are they tight?
