Now that the weather is warming up (at least it was warm on Friday) a bit, I can start back up the learning curve of the climate control on my 92 300SE.
In A/C mode I get some seemingly inaccurate values from the various sensors on the system when checked. The outside air temp sensor seems to read 10 or more degrees to high - sometimes. Also, I "think" the sensor for the cabin temp reads too low, and it's suprisingly "touchy". My experience in the past has been that thermistors don't respond rapidly to changes in temp, but this one seems to move very quickly up and down.
The problem with the A/C is that it will come on gangbusters when you first switch on the car with the cabin hot. (Especially with the new Unwired Products regulator installed). However, before I'm comfortable, the A/C slows way down. Checking the values from the control unit, I'm seeing 80+ degrees cabin temp, 16-18 fan speed (8 is lowest, 60 highest) and 73 selected on driver's side temp dial. I with a 7 or more temp differential between requested and actual, I would expect more fan speed.
Any ideas?
