'Just used leaf blower to remove significant stash of leaves from hood hinge wells on my 126. 'Did it couple of months ago on the 123. 'Need to keep these leaves, debris, etc., removed to allow good drainage and deter rust!!!

I blew enough leaves out of my 81 300 SD with air hose so that it looked like an autum storm in my shop.....

I used one of those 50 cent vacuums at the gas station. People looked at me a bit funny, but there were a lot of leaves in there, along with other unidentifiable biomatter...

The Leaf Blowers do such a swell job for what they were intended that I thought they could be used for other uses.
I use mine for blowing down my Benz after washing. It does a super job leaving little finish wipping with the towelling.
Caution, don't allow the nozzle to drag on the paint, scratches big time.

Careful with using the leaf blower as a blow dryer...it can still suck up some particulate debris into the impeller and shoot it out of the nozzle onto the finish. Then what you have is a household-grade bead blaster!

Like all things used in a manner not designed for; we must use good old common sense when doing that which we do.
I thought it was juvenile when I mentioned be careful not to mar the paint.
Well of course you wouldn't.
But for these blowers to become a bead blaster or what ever?

I'd be cautious with one of those leaf blowers myself also. Mine doubles as a leaf vacuum, and gets lots of various size pebbles and debris lodged inside. I'd almost want a brand new one that never sucked up anything, rebadge it as my MB drier, and use it only for that purpose.

its easy to make a filter type of thing for most leaf blowers out.. this way no need to worry about the debris..

but watever...

I just use a water hose and a old speedometer cable on the 300D. The speedometer cable is used to make sure the drain is "rodded" out and then just wash everything out and through with the water hose. Also, inside the front fender wells at the back I cut the bottom of the "drain" lines out where it is now just a open ended "downspout". This insures that everything flows out freely. The drain piece was severely plugged with dirt and debris prior to cutting the bottom and washing it out. I don't run with any drain plugs anywhere in the 300D. I want that water to drain out to allow these areas to dry. Obviously, I don't have to worry about salt effects.
