E320 Wagon 94 No Start No crank
Firstly thank you for the great advice that I have already used to get me this far in my trouble shooting.
Car in P no start and no crank. Car in N same - Moved the shifter side to side in N no start. I have all electrics. A buzzing comes from the large balck combination realy - Indicators, Wiper and heated rear screen - I removed the top of the relay and the buzzing is the points vibrating on the center relay for the indicators. When the indicators are used the relay stops buzinng and opens and closes in line with the flashing. Strong battery and cleaned the grounds. Jumped to the center pin of X27 and the car cranks. No aftermarket alarm system. This leaves the NSS and relay K38. Bypassed relay K38 by shorting the two large violet wires under the dash with the pin removed. No change. Removed the connector from the NSS and pluged a new NSS to it. Tried starting the car without attaching the new NSS to the transmission. Tried all three positions on the switch and still no start. Any ideas on where I should go from here or what am I doing wrong. Thanks, Roger |

Here is a hard lesson.
After spending the best part of 3 days trouble shooting this problem I started doing some searches after making the first post and followed threads on buzzing. Everything pointed to fuses and in particular to No 5. Just went and checked it again and sure enough it fell in half as I removed it. Looked perfect and I am sure I removed and cleaned and tested them all. Car now starts with no problems. I certainly learned a lot about the car which is a positive. |
