The message from Aldedmon prompts me to ask the following: I use a fuel injector cleaner additive in my U.S. cars, and I'm wondering whether it would hurt to use it in my '84 380SE (mechanical injection). I use Chevron's Pro-Guard "Fuel Injector PLUS Intake Valve Cleaner." Anybody have any thoughts? Would it help? Would it hurt? I use highest octane gasoline (usually 91). I have no performance complaints, and I wonder whether the additive would fall into the category of preventative maintenance. Thanks in advance, all.

Do a search through this site on fuel injector cleaners. This is a frequently discussed topic......though not as much as motor oil! I'm sure you'll find plenty of informative reading.
