stumbling
anyone elses merc stumble in the wet weather like mine. especially the 420sel. I seems that when it is pouring rain the car sometimes has no power and hesitates when i give it gas. I thought it was old wires as my van used to not even start when it dewed outside beacause of wires with 150,000 miles on them. i replaced the wires but still nothing. I looked at the distributor cap but it was dry. maybe the belts are slipping?

Nobody Has Had This Problem?

surely it would have to be something that is subject to moisture.the only things that i can think of are the fuel pump relay and the ovp relay [because of where they are] why don't you pull them out and examine the sockets where they plug in for corrosion.the other thought would be the battery cables and the main ground from bell housing to chassis. hope these musings give you some food for thought.

Ive pulled the OVP and it looks good. ( I think) Where is th fuel pump relay?
|
on the firewall next to the ovp and the a/c relay.

use dielectric grease on those contact points and plug them back up, check all the grounds and add grease to prevent corrosion, all electrical contacts should be treated with this type of grease.(dielectric)JNT
