FEEL DUMB,plastic euro's are glass
:behead: On a previous tread I wrote to say I had bought 124 EURO headlights that had plastic lenses.Showed them to my wife and co-worker and they both thought plastic.Well on the lights they are marked glass lense, also they came in a depot box,but on the lense they are marked DEPO.
YES I FEEL KIND OF DUMB :D  ,but i feel better knowing they are depo and glass. The other thing that threw me was the price 159.00 plus29.95 shipping. These came with two plastic 6 pin connectors but no bulbs. THANK YOU FOR THOSE WHO RESPONDED RICH |
was this an e-bay deal?
share you source please, I'm going to be looking for euros for my 124 soon. |
My DEPOs arrived today. The lens is glass.
First inspection reveals that the housing is not as crisply molded as Bosch but they look perfectly acceptable, especially at 40% of the cost of the Bosch. I notice the lenses are attached very well, compared to the Boschs which were not. I was surprised to see the vacuum adjustment on these, too. These are for my 1991 model. We'll see how they perform compared to the Bosch already on my 1990 124. They came from http://importvision.com |
billwell7k is thr person i bought these from. They also have the vacuum pod.
I was really suprised to get them so cheap. He does sell the bulbs also. They arrivied in about a week Rich |
bULBS,,,
H1's and H4's correct?
How is fit during install? Any problems/fit/finish? Esp anchoring bolts, had a problem with DJ brand Cibie knockoffs where the captice bolt would break free when there was any corrosion at the not on the opposite end. then you have o choice but to Dremel thru the nusts and then toss the capsule. And the N American Headlamp wipers are a no fit scenario? (Then again the N American uniots need all the help they can get whereas you can SEE with the E Code units)... |
Appears my "N" has joined the Coffee Achievers...
Did a Mocha Java on my KB yesterday and after reading my post above...it appears I didn't get all the sticky stuff out.
Sorry, no you are not going dyslectic... |
H3 and H4, I believe.

He also has some clear turn signal lights listed for $20 buy it now price, plus $20 shipping. Feedback is only 98.3%. Does anyone think they look junky or might they be worth a try? Just found some smoke grey corner lights from the importvision website for $35. Would grey would look better on a grey car or the clear? They have some nice euro headlight/turn signal combos, also with grey turn signals that could replace that old cracked plastic that frames the headlights. Or I could replace the headlights with some hellas/Depos and change the turn signal lights.....decisions, decisions... |
I tried the crystal clear turn signals and because they are so shiny? they made the rest of the front end look worn out.Next time i will buy the 94-95 style. They have the look of the orange signals but clear.
So for bulbs H3 and H4.....H3 is for the fog light position? Thanks everyone for all your help Rich |
Now that you mention the shininess of the crystal clear, I can see the problem of the corners contrasting (badly) with the headlight frame.
Darn, just took a look at billwell7k's other items and what you ordered is not available for my 91 300e, just the corners. So, I might have to go with importvision, even though they cost more than billwell7k. And it should take care of the plastic frame around the headlight problem. |
