95 E320 Transmission Interchangeability ?
 

Hi All,

Yesterday the automatic tranny 'went' in my 95 E320 with 82K miles. Lost reverse and 4th / overdrive. I won't have it to my local (good) MB shop until next week for an estimate. I have been perusing various sites for the cost of used transmissions.

Will the trans from any other years and models of MB fit my car ?

I know you are in BC, but there is a great place in California called Sun Valley Mercedes Dismantlers. They will ship a completely rebuilt tranny with torque convertor for a competitive price. My 722.508 tranny on my 95 S320 went out and I had a local shop tear it down...by the time I figured out I would have a better deal with Sun Valley, I had spent more on the tear-down than I should have and was stuck to have the local shop repair it.

They will ship to your local shop for you.

Thats funny,,, the tranny went out on our TE at about the same miles. Went for a rebuilt for around 3K total installed price.
