1997 C280 misfire

Well I changed the plugs to non resistor, changed the fuel filter,Changed the coil packs and wires and the car still starts chugging along at about 1500 RPMs with no check engine light coming on. I hooked up a timing light to 1,3 and # 5 plugs.Reved the car to 1500 RPMS and the plugs are misfiring .The timing light tells the tale. The car idles perfect with no misfire.Does anyone know what could be causing this.I'm starting to think the airflow meter but I thought for sure this would cause an error code.Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Mike
