Hi All, I was replacing my three prong temperature switch (close to the thermostat) and when I turned it I broke off the top of the "thermostat vacuum valve"(unit with two vacuum lines coming from the top of it). Now the car does not run very good..it will sputter out as soon as I step on the gas. Does anyone have any experience with this item? Any way I can bypass it until I can get the part?
Thanks in advance! Charles

Put a golf Tee in each end of the hoses...Then replace the valve

I plugged off both ends. The car will idle fine but when I step on the gas it sputters and dies out..is this caused by the thermo vacuum valve or should I look for something else?
TIA Charles
