1995 s500 ABS ASR light on. Speedo went inoperative. Wont exceed 4500RPM
As I had previously posted on the 1995 Mercedes S500. ABS ASR LIGHT ON. No Speedo, no engine operation under any circumstance over 4500RPM, Park, Neutral or any forward gears. I ran down what I could, and paid to have it scanned at the local independent Mercedes shop. They said the only thing wrong was the Brake Pedal Switch, about $17.00 for the part. I am sceptical, I even read the print out. Is it possible this part has caused all this to go wrong?
Thanks, TOM |

My only concern would be the speedo, but that one is full electronic, so that is possible. Many guy change it before they even do a code check b/c it is so popular...kinda second cousin to OVP relay for common failure part.. "OK, Alex, I'll try Benz for $600.." Ok .Brake Light SW ..Brake Light SW.. Tick-Tock Tic-toc " Ummm..What causes ASR limp ???" "Bingo..you win' " Last edited by Arthur Dalton; 04-10-2007 at 06:41 PM. |
