We have a 98 ml320 that was recently at dealer for a problem that was diagnosed resulted in them replacing the fuel pump. They returned vehicle to me and after @ 200 miles of driving the fuel gauge still showed full and trip computer showed miles left till empty at @ 400 miles. Also the light on dash showing low fuel never came on and we stopped and put in 18.4 gallons of gas. Could dealer have left something undone or do I check fuse box. THANKS

The problem is more than likely with your fuel sender unit. This is/was a common problem on C-classes (W202) and MLs. Do a search and you should find a good amt. of info on the topic. Remember, the C-class had similar problems, so searching for that might help too. Good luck!

The fuel level sender is part of the fuel pump. It is entirely possible (and don't ask how I know this) that the rod with the float on the end could become tangled in the fuel lines inside the tank, resulting in the float getting stuck in the "up" or full position. MB has just come out with some new updates concerning the fuel pump assembly and also some external hose changes for the ML, your dealer will probably want to do these updates now also. Bulletin was released about a week ago concerning both of these changes........Gilly
