Towing automatic transmission
is the 1994 5 speed transmission fitted with a secondary pump for towing and towstart the car,If not is it possible to tow the car.
I will remember that after 1991 there is no secondary pump but you can still towing the car not 120km as it was with secondary pump, but 50km without the pump. |
did you check the owners manual?

I don't got one but in a 1995 420 manual says you can tow the car 50 Km.
But I am intresting in the construction of the tranny too the secondary pump construction seems like a good idea and I think it's only MB s car that got one. |
Get the rear wheels off the ground, putting the fronts on a dolly, or flat deck it. Towing it with the drive wheels on the ground should be avoided.

I'd tow it from the rear for a number of reasons.
1) The rear of the car, is much lighter, than the front anyways. 2) You'll literally eliminate, ANY risk of damaging anything at all in the driveline. 3) The front end has less hang-over, eliminating the off chance of bottoming out the rear end, and possibly ripping anything of importance off of the back. There are more, do you need more? Lotta years of repo, and towing work, in my experience. |
The secondary pump was taken out in 92 on the 722 trans. I think the rule was 50km/for 50km
